Tom Cigarran is a co-founder, former CEO and the current Chairman of publicly-traded, Nashville, Tennessee-based Healthways, Inc., (NASDAQ:HWAY).  Healthways, with $736 million in revenue (2008), is the leading and largest provider of comprehensive health support, care support employers, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”) and hospitals.  Healthways provides comprehensive programs for chronic diseases and conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and chronic pulmonary disease.  These programs are currently provided to more than 32 million individuals with these conditions in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Germany, Brazil, Puerto Rico and Guam.

Mr. Cigarran is also the former Chairman of AmSurg Corporation (NASDAQ:AMSG), an ambulatory surgery center company and has held directorships at International Clinical Laboratories, Inc., Corporate Family Solutions, Inc., Clintrials Research, Inc. (CCRO), Meretek Diagnostics, Inc. and Genderm, Inc.

Known for his commitment to education, Mr. Cigarran currently serves on the Alignment Nashville Operating Board, the Haiti Mission Education Committee, the Advisory Board of the Owen School Healthcare MBA Program, and as a member of the Boards of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Harpeth Hall School.  He is Immediate Past Chair of the Nashville Health Care Council.

Mr. Cigarran received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Villanova University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the New York University Graduate School of Business.
